Dinah Weil honored at 2010 International Brahman Show
Dinah Weil, an American Red Brahman breeder from Rosharon, Texas, was honored at the 2010 International Brahman Show for 34 years of service to the Brahman cattle breed.
In 1976, Dinah joined the ABBA staff as recording secretary, where she managed the Brahman herd registry and travelled throughout the world promoting Brahman cattle. In 1989, Dinah left her position at the ABBA to begin a new venture as a Brahman cattle breeder of HK Cattle in Rosharon, Texas. Dinah’s contributions to the Brahman breed extend beyond the borders of the United States, says Armelinda Ibarra, recording secretary of the American Brahman Breeders Association.
“For the last 21 years, Dinah has dedicated her life to promoting Red Brahman cattle around the world,” says Ibarra. “Dinah has never forgotten her ABBA roots and serves ABBA around the world as our goodwill ambassador of Brahman cattle.”
In addition to her role in the highly successful HK Cattle operation, Dinah serves as a director of the American Brahman Breeders Association and chairman of the ABBA International Committee. Dinah attributes her success in the beef industry to her passion for Brahman cattle.
“I am fortunate because I do what I love, and I love what I do,” said Weil, when accepting her award during a championship selection at the 2010 International Brahman Show. In recognition of her accomplishments, Dinah was presented with two trophy plaques, and was recognized with a special awards presentation in the showring with her many friends and family.
